The Most Important Part of The Day
The most important part of your day is the thirty minutes you spend before you jump out of bed. I learned this trick 15 or so years ago. It works very well.
I have never understood the people who jump out of bet at 5:30 and run 12 miles before breakfast, their nuts(sorry mom, I just don't understand how you can do that). After a cup of coffee and a few minuets to just be, then I am good for 3 to 5 miles.
OK, here is what you do and why.
Set your alarm clock thirty minuets before you need to get out of bed(if you use an alarm clock, I haven't for 15 years). when it goes off the first time hit the snooze. This gives you 3 warnings if the snooze is set for ten minuets. But don't go back to sleep. Put an extra pillow under your head. Then rest the eyes and let the mind start to go over whatever you want.
You can go over what needs to get done. You can just day dream. Try not to fall back to sleep but don't wake up either. You will be amazed at the thought process that goes on. You need to just observe your thoughts. Once I started 'perculating' in the morning, I had a lot less stress and more clarity of thought.
Why not give it a try for a week and then come back and report? I would love to hear about your experience. Will it work for you? You won't know until you try.
